VIOLET YUEN

Hi, I’m Violet Yuen — an Editor & Assistant Editor with a strong foundation in unscripted post-production and a passion for shaping stories with clarity, creativity, and technical precision.
I’ve contributed to high-profile projects including Mittens & Pants Season 3, Rebound: A Year of Triumph and Tragedy at Yeshiva University Basketball, FBI True, and 100 Days to Indy Season 2, where I’ve supported editorial workflows, created dynamic animated graphics, and built assembly edits and promos.
Most recently, my independent short film THE LOOP — created through a hybrid of editing craft and AI tools — was officially selected for the Brooklyn Sci-Fi Film Festival. This reflects my growing focus on expanding from editorial support into full-time editing, where I not only manage workflow but actively craft the story on screen.
Skills:
Editing & Story Craft: Assembly and promo edits, string-outs, radio edits, and full short-form projects; skilled at shaping narrative flow and pacing.
Media Management: Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro; advanced in workflows, relinking, conform, and remote editorial.
Motion Graphics & Design: Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator; creating 2D animation and broadcast graphics, with experience in experimental visuals for independent films.
Technical Problem-Solving: Frame rate conversions, relinking errors, codec management, and troubleshooting complex multi-format pipelines.
Creative Exploration: AI-assisted filmmaking and hybrid workflows, bridging experimental storytelling with professional editorial practice.
